Creative, Digital and Games pathway

The Creative, Digital and Games pathway is a practical work-related programme for any young person interested in pursuing a career in one of the Creative industries.

The Creative, Digital and Games pathway itself will cover a wide variety of project-based training that will give an overview of working in creative businesses; whether that’s Games Design, Photography, Journalism, Design and Web Development.

Throughout the course you will look at a wide range of creative media including Video Production, Photography Techniques, Animation Techniques, Print Production, Writing for the Creative Media and Audio Production. You will also look at a variety of games based subjects including Computer Games Testing, Designing Stories and Characters, 3D Modelling and understanding how to produce and market a game. You will get the opportunity to work with local creative specialists which will give you a first-hand experience of their chosen career field.

You will study mandatory units that will develop further knowledge and understanding in, for example, English for Journalists or the use of applying Maths in Games Development, while exploring the attributes required to work in the industry. You will also study a number of optional specialist units which will offer a closer focus on a vocational area and give you the opportunity to explore an area in even greater depth.
