Academy Grimsby Students celebrate GCSE Results day and their next steps
Celebrations were in order at The Academy Grimsby after students collected their GCSE results, with plans to continue their studies in further education and Apprenticeships.
Maddy is proud of her grades with a 7 in Psychology and a 7 in English. The next step for Maddy is enrolling at Franklin College to study A Level Psychology, Criminology, and Biology.
Maddy shared: “The Academy team are so welcoming and encourage you to always do your best. My teachers have been so lovely and supportive, and I would recommend The Academy Grimsby to anyone. I just want to say thank you to everyone at the Academy—you’ve been great!”
Emily, 16 is most proud of her History grade today which was a 5. She is now heading to join Franklin College to do A levels in Ancient History, Government and Politics. Emily joined the Academy from Ormiston and welcomed the smaller class sizes. She said:
“The Academy Grimsby was the best decision I made and I would love to come back and do work experience here. I would visit on a daily basis if they would let me.
“My teachers have been amazing and they are so good at what they do. It is like a big family. I’m so excited about my future.”
Dylan initially joined the Construction pathway at The Academy Grimsby but found his passion in Automotive instead. Now, he’s heading to The Grimsby Institute to further his studies in motor vehicle.
He shared: “I’m really surprised by my results. I really like the people at The Academy, and the support from teachers and staff has been great.”
Matt Holness, Principal at the Academy Grimsby, said: “We have had another positive year at The Academy Grimsby with some very impressive individual results. I am extremely proud of what our learners have achieved, and I would like to thank them, their parents for their support and the Academy team for all their hard work and efforts.
I wish the learners every success as they take their next steps in education.”
