Tell us about when you joined The Academy Grimsby and what your impressions were…

I came to The Academy between 2016 – 2018 to study the engineering pathway. The experience was unbelievable, to be honest. I don’t think I would be in the position I’m in today without this school.

What is it that makes The Academy Grimsby stand out?

You can ask the questions you want to ask here – the smaller class sizes make that possible. Also, you can really just be yourself here. There are all sorts of people there and there is just no judgement – they want you to be yourself.

Was the practical side of the pathway useful?

The facilities here are unbelievable. When I left I knew exactly what I wanted to do – I knew I wanted to get into an apprenticeship. It definitely helped me when I started my apprenticeship knowing what it was like to be ‘on the tools’.

What would you say to someone considering coming to The Academy Grimsby?

If you are wanting to pursue a job in engineering, I would definitely recommend coming to The Academy Grimsby – it helped me get to where I am now. I’m in my dream job and without The Academy, I don’t think I would have been able to make that happen.
